The tragic loss of Lucas Knudson, a talented basketball player from Orono High School in Long Lake, MN, has left the community in mourning. 

Lucas, a vibrant 17-year-old from Corcoran, MN, passed away following a single-vehicle accident in Minnetonka on Sunday night. His untimely death has deeply impacted his family, friends, teammates, and all who knew him.  

The fatal accident occurred on Highway 7 near the intersection of County Road 101 at approximately 10:45 p.m. Lucas was driving a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq, traveling eastbound when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a light pole. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Lucas was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the factors that led to the vehicle leaving the roadway.
