Joseph Lozito Lincoln Park NJ Death, Obituary: Joseph Lozito Jr, DO, Family Practice Physician in Hawthorne, New Jersey Dies Unexpectedly

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Dr. Joseph Lozito, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, husband, and doctor.

Dr. Lozito left us peacefully on November 20, 2024, just shy of his 89th birthday, surrounded by family. His passing marks the end of a remarkable life filled with kindness, love, and selfless dedication to the well-being of others.

Joe, as he was affectionately known, was a man whose life was defined by his commitment to care for others. His career as a physician spanned many decades, and throughout this time, he became more than just a doctor to his patients.

He was a confidant, a compassionate listener, and a steady presence who brought comfort and reassurance to everyone he encountered.

His patients were not just recipients of his medical expertise—they were individuals he genuinely cared for, and he took the time to understand their lives, their concerns, and their needs.

Whether it was discussing family recipes or sharing recommendations for the best local restaurants, Joe always made sure to create a personal connection with those he served.

Outside of his professional life, Joe was first and foremost a family man. His 68-year marriage to his wife, Geraldine, was the cornerstone of his life.

Together, they built a relationship based on love, respect, and deep companionship, sharing a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support. As a father, Joe exemplified the qualities of a strong and loving role model.

He taught his children the importance of putting family first, offering wisdom and guidance, and always being there to lend a hand or a listening ear. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

He would have given anything for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were his world, and his legacy as a patriarch will live on through them.

Joe’s generosity and compassion extended beyond his immediate family. He had a heart that knew no bounds, offering help to anyone in need—whether it was a neighbor going through a difficult time or a friend facing hardship, Joe was always ready to lend a hand.

He would open his heart and his home to all, always eager to share his warmth and hospitality. He loved entertaining and was known for hosting gatherings filled with laughter, good food, and an abundance of joy. His love for a good party, combined with his natural ability to bring people together, made him the life of every occasion.

An outgoing and vibrant soul, Joe had a zest for life that was contagious. He made friends wherever he went, and his adventurous spirit never waned. Joe’s love for life’s spontaneous pleasures was evident in his frequent trips to the casino and the racetrack.

His willingness to embrace the thrill of the moment and share in these experiences with others brought immense joy to everyone around him. Whether he was placing a bet at the track or jumping in the car for an impromptu trip to the casino, Joe's infectious enthusiasm and love for adventure created lasting memories with those he shared these moments with.

One of Joe’s greatest joys in life was vacationing with his family in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. For many years, the beach town served as a special place where Joe and his loved ones created treasured memories.

The simple pleasures of walking along the promenade, enjoying family meals, and sharing laughter with his family were moments that defined Joe’s life. His favorite spot was on his balcony, where he often remarked that he had “the best view in town.”

It was here, with the ocean breeze in the air and his family by his side, that Joe felt at peace, surrounded by the warmth and love that characterized his life. Dr. Joseph Lozito leaves behind a profound legacy of love, service, and compassion.

He is predeceased by his daughter, Lynn Marie, and is survived by his devoted wife, Geraldine, his children Joseph and his wife Patricia, Deborah, Donna and her husband Michael, Francine and her husband Leonard, Michael and his wife Betsy, and Michele and her husband Peter.

His grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Russell, Allison and her husband Joe, Melissa and her husband Chris, Lynn Marie and her fiancé Sal, Gary, Ashley, Joseph, Michael, Mikayla and her husband Max, Natalie, Alyssa, Matthew, Francesca, Jake, Megan, Evan, and Peyton, along with his great-grandchildren, RJ, Brooklyn, Matthew, Cora, Sienna, Delilah, and Baby T on the way, will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.

Dr. Joe's friends, colleagues, and extended family will forever remember his warmth, generosity, and love. His legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Keri-Lozito Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ, from 1-4 PM and 6-9 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, Wayne, NJ, at 10:30 AM, followed by interment at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, NJ.

Though Joe is no longer with us, his legacy of love, kindness, and service to others will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
