A proud alumnus of LSU, John furthered his academic and athletic ambitions, gaining the tools and experience that would later define his career. Before LSU, he attended Woodlawn High School and St. Amant High School, where he was known for his vibrant personality, leadership qualities, and love for sports.  




Coach Talley’s professional life was intertwined with his role at Dutchtown High School in Prairieville, Louisiana. A beloved figure on campus, he was more than just a football coach. He was a mentor, motivator, and source of inspiration for countless students and athletes. 

Known for his ability to connect deeply with those he worked with, John emphasized the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and personal growth, both on and off the field. His commitment to his players extended beyond the game, as he sought to mold them into confident and responsible individuals ready to face life’s challenges.

To honor John Talley’s memory and celebrate his extraordinary life, a rosary will be held in his honor on Tuesday, November 26, at 6 PM in the stadium. This gathering will provide an opportunity for the community to come together, share their memories, and reflect on the tremendous impact he had on their lives.
