Suicide - Matthew Byars Maryland Death, Obituary: Matt Byars, Talent Manager Who Appeared On Bravo’s ‘Real Housewives Of Potomac’ Dies; Bravo Stars Melissa Gorga & Charrisse Jackson Pay Tribute

Matthew Byars, a talent manager who gained recognition through his appearances on Bravo’s *The Real Housewives of Potomac* (RHOP), has passed away.

Byars was a memorable figure to RHOP viewers as Karen Huger’s trusted assistant and a key member of her management team. He first appeared on the show during Huger’s infamous Season 3 “press conference,” where she addressed rumors about her financial situation.

Byars's vibrant personality and loyalty made him a standout in the series, earning him a unique place in the RHOP community. Byars's passing prompted heartfelt tributes from friends and former colleagues. Former RHOP star Charrisse Jackson-Jordan shared a photo of herself with Byars on social media, captioning it simply, “Rest in peace.”

Melissa Gorga from *The Real Housewives of New Jersey* penned a poignant message on Instagram, expressing her heartbreak:
> “Matt—Why didn’t you tell me, Matt? I’m heartbroken. Your personality was infectious. Your jokes—you always had them. You should have done stand-up—I know it was your dream. My heart hurts, Matt. … Thank you for bringing me my very first performance of ‘ON DISPLAY.’ … I wish I could have saved you. Thank you for the memories. Go fly—go make them laugh.”

Karen Huger, one of RHOP’s most prominent stars, spoke fondly of Byars in a 2019 interview with *The Daily Dish*. She recalled first meeting him as a teenager and offering him guidance during a challenging time in his life. Huger encouraged him to pursue his education, which he did, and their relationship evolved into a professional partnership and close friendship.

Huger described Byars as “like family,” sharing that he even attended her mother’s funeral. She affectionately referred to him as a “true friend,” emphasizing the unwavering bond they shared long before her time on RHOP. Huger’s admiration for Byars extended beyond his professional contributions; she appreciated his resilience, loyalty, and sense of humor.

During his appearances on RHOP, Byars often served as Huger’s confidant and ally. His presence at Huger’s “press conference” sparked curiosity among the cast, with Ashley Darby mistaking him for Huger’s lawyer. Despite these humorous moments, Byars became a beloved part of Huger’s storyline, appearing in several episodes throughout the series.

Byars’s infectious spirit and dedication to his friends left an indelible mark on the RHOP family and beyond. His loss is deeply felt by those who knew him personally and by fans who connected with his vibrant personality on-screen.
